Art Johnston, the provincial voice for residents of Calgary Hays.

Calgary, Alberta - Today I officially announce that I am seeking the nomination as the Progressive Conservative candidate in Calgary Hays and intend on working with Albertans to bring even greater prosperity to this province and to be the provincial voice to the residents of South Calgary.

Throughout my career as a Calgary Police Service Officer and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), my constant motivation has been to enhance the quality of life for my neighbours, the residents of Calgary Hays and all Albertans.

I have lived the passion of creating change for Albertans since being elected as the MLA for Calgary Hays in 2004 and have seen, and been a part of, great advances in this province.

Each individual that I have had the pleasure in speaking with during my time as MLA has been influential in framing the decisions that I have made and the bills I have put forward. Most recent of which was the introduction of Alberta’s distracted driving law, one that will have significant and positive impact for Albertans.

Working with the City of Calgary, the Federal Government and my colleagues in the Alberta Legislature is key to working on several issues important to those in and around Calgary Hays.

Improving Deerfoot Trail, getting the Southeast LRT built and having recreation centers built in South Calgary are issues that I am passionate about resolving on behalf of my constituents in Calgary Hays and making them a reality.
